In a downturn, operating costs often do not reduce in line with the drop in freight demand. Productivity, however, may fall rapidly. It is possible to create efficient cargo ground operations with high levels of productivity; even in difficult economic times. This can be achieved by improving processes and working practices, and introducing demand-driven rosters.
