Our Team

Transport & Logistics Consultancy is made up of a team of specialist logistics and aviation consultants. Our team brings together long-standing industry experience, operations credibility, analytical excellence and the ability to drive solution implementation and change. We understand, challenge and transform airport, airline, air cargo and logistics operations.

Each client project is different and no two operations are the same. Therefore project teams are selected based on the nature of the individual project. We recognise the importance of achieving the correct balance of practical operations experience and technical skill in each project team, based on the needs of the assignment, to consistently deliver a high level of service.

Our team boasts academic and technical backgrounds in operational research, industrial engineering, operations and facility design, and airport planning. Clients also benefit from our many years of operational, commercial, line management and consulting experience with organisations in the aviation and distribution industries. Joint Managing Directors

As joint managing directors of Transport & Logistics Consultancy, Paul Bloch, David Calder and Richard Coleman lend their expertise to all client assignments as well as sharing organisational leadership responsibilities for the company.

They have developed respected positions as operations experts in the aviation and distribution industries and are the first port of call for many of our clients to discuss operating issues.

Paul Bloch

Paul is an accomplished business director, operations manager and industrial engineering manager with considerable hands-on experience; over 20 years in the aviation and logistics industries. He is recognised within these sectors for his ability to drive and realise operations improvement, business process engineering and strategic development projects.

Paul founded Transport & Logistics Consultancy in 1995. Before this, he held a number of senior operations, industrial engineering and general management positions with organisations including UPS and Australian Airlines.

Paul has an MSc in Transport and Logistics Management.

David Calder

David has significant experience in process optimisation, improvement and design, implementation and project management. He is an innovative problem solver with a broad understanding of airport, airline and distribution operations. Client organisations benefit from David's ability to work with and coach all organisational levels, providing the necessary skills and tools to sustain business improvements.

David is currently working with British Airways at its Heathrow Airport operation. He is leading the development and implementation of Terminal 5 baggage handling processes, working closely with operational management and trade unions to ensure processes are lean and robust.

Before joining T&L in 1998, David held various senior positions at UPS. David is a production engineer and has an M.B.A. from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Richard Coleman

With over 15 years experience as a director of and consultant to manufacturing, logistics and aviation organisations, Richard is an expert in re-engineering business processes, initiating and implementing operational change and improvement. He is an extremely capable programme director and has led large multi-national change programmes including systems development and integration.

Richard has a background of senior operations management and director roles. Prior to joining Transport & Logistics Consultancy in 1999, he was Head of Operations for a £multi-million fleet management business belonging to NatWest Group plc.

Richard is an engineer with an MBA from London Business School.

Consultancy Team

Neville Coss

Neville is highly proficient in operations planning in airport, airline and air cargo environments. Combining analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of client industries, his work has delivered operational change and provided clear direction to project stakeholders.

He has been part of the T&L team since July 2005. Prior to this, he specialised in airport systems planning for Halcrow, involved in the definition of aviation infrastructure and facility requirements and the development of master plans for European airports. Neville also worked as an operations planner for British Airways World Cargo.

Neville has an MSc in Airport Planning and Management.

Chad Hsu

Chad has an impressive background of business and operations improvements in the aviation industry. He applies his broad analytical skill set to develop performance enhancing systems and operational solutions.

Prior to joining T&L, Chad spent five years at Sydney Airport Corporation in operations/business analytical and systems improvement roles. He made significant contributions in areas including: terminal operations, baggage systems, forecast planning, staff rostering, reporting and scenario planning.

He has a Masters degree in Operational Research.

David Kenna

David has experience of applying operational research techniques in a logistics environment. His work has supported and advised operational, marketing and strategic management decisions.

David was previously employed at SPAR, an international food retail chain where he instigated and coordinated the development of the company’s UK supply chain. His analytical skills played a key role in developing a strategy to simplify the supply chain, assessing the benefits of a new consolidation centre facility, and designing, planning and implementing the developments.

He holds an MSc in Management Science and Operational Research.

Claire Morgan

Claire has significant knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry, developed through operational and commercial experience. She has made key contributions to the development and realisation of operations solutions in an airport environment. She is a good communicator and has played a leading role in motivating, coaching and coordinating client teams during implementation processes.

Claire has been with Transport & Logistics Consultancy since 2002, before which she spent over three years at HOCHTIEF AirPort.

She has a BA in French, German and Business Administration.

Steve Nunn

Steve was a founder member of Transport & Logistics Consultancy at its establishment in 1996. He brings to our organisation over 30 years of experience in industrial engineering and operations management in the cargo and logistics industries. This includes a history of senior positions at a freight forwarder and with UPS, as manager of various large hub and centre operations.

Steve has strong operations management skills, including operations planning, production management and manpower planning, and consistently produces excellent results for client organisations. He has a BSc.

John Packham

John has a track record of delivering operations performance improvement. He has successfully applied his impressive production, leadership and communication skills in practice to secure change in commercial environments.

Prior to joining Transport & Logistics Consultancy, John performed a general manager role at Abercrombie & Fitch, at both its New York and London bases. His achievements included the introduction and integration of lean manufacturing practices, which led to a significant increase in throughput.

John is a first class honours Master of Engineering graduate.

Fiona Rees

Fiona has an impressive track record of successful project delivery. She demonstrates all-round operations excellence within our client industries. Her aptitude for problem identification and solution development has created significant opportunities for clients.

Fiona joined Transport & Logistics Consultancy in 2002, after spending five years in various roles at British Airways, including Senior Operations Research Analyst. She also formed part of the project team responsible for the migration of the British Airways World Cargo business into the New World Cargo Centre at Heathrow Airport.

Fiona holds a first class degree in Combined Operational Research with Accounting.

Robert Ryan

Robert is a skilled and a highly motivated commercial manager and strategist, with significant experience in project and programme management within fast-moving, competitive environments. He has exceptional communications and team leadership skills that enable him to drive delivery in pressure situations.

Robert's extensive knowledge of the air cargo industry results from almost twenty years in various positions at British Airways World Cargo. He joined Transport & Logistics Consultancy in 2002. Robert performed the role of programme director for the IATA e-freight initiative for an eighteen month period during 2005 and 2006.
