Airport Planning
Our consultants help clients to plan for the future. We determine future capacity and facilities requirements for airport, airline and air cargo infrastructure, and translate these into phased development plans for operators. With our analytical and operations design expertise, we support airport planning processes at various stages.
Forecasting: We produce well-informed long-term growth forecasts and busy day schedules over specific time periods. Our outputs are based on a variety of information sources such as global, regional and local traffic and economic data; market studies and analysis; and research of industry developments. This approach takes into account both long-term growth trends and the impact of industry actions, such as the introduction of new aircraft or routes, that could cause deviations from trends in some years and therefore affect scheduling.
Capacity Planning: We take a scientific approach to determining the capacity requirements for aviation infrastructure. Our analysts produce capacity models that calculate requirements over time based on factors such as forecast demand, industry standards and service levels. We also consider the impact of client strategies and industry developments that may influence throughput rates and service expectations.
Master Planning: We use our findings from forecasting and capacity planning exercises to inform master planning phases. Our expertise in this area lies in applying our findings to advise the client on phased facility development visions. We consider infrastructure requirements and expansion options; building locations and dimensions, to accommodate capacity requirements over time; facility requirements, taking into account industry developments and client strategies.
