Facility Layout & Operations Design

In the development of new aviation and logistics facilities and operations, Transport & Logistics Consultancy leads and supports the concept and detailed design phases. We work closely with our clients, other stakeholders and complementary service providers to deliver specialist, customer-focussed facility designs.

In designing the functional layout and operating concept, we liaise with client and user teams to identify key operational design criteria, design ‘product’ flows and define and document operational requirements and strategies.

A core element of T&L’s approach is developing a clear understanding of the operational, commercial and user requirements for facilities, systems and processes. This means ensuring all contributing factors are taken into consideration, such as traffic volumes; capacity requirements; work flows; and safety, security and regulation. The detailed design phase requires agreement and delivery of detailed operating plans that comprehensively communicate integrated processes for the new facility; infrastructure, systems and equipment requirements; operating assumptions and detailed traffic forecasts. As part of the management of this stage, we work with clients to translate requirements and activities into agreed build, test and readiness plans and complete the supplier selection and appointment process.

T&L delivers operations designs with the aim of meeting client and user objectives, providing for optimal product flow, ensuring long-term operations efficiency and, where requested, making provision for future expansion.
