Facility Layout & Operations Design

In the development of new aviation and logistics facilities and operations, Transport & Logistics Consultancy leads and supports the concept and detailed design phases. We work closely with our clients, other stakeholders and complementary service providers to deliver specialist, customer-focussed facility designs.

In designing the functional layout and operating concept, we liaise with client and user teams to identify key operational design criteria, design ‘product’ flows and define and document operational requirements and strategies.

A core element of T&L’s approach is developing a clear understanding of the operational, commercial and user requirements for facilities, systems and processes. This means ensuring all contributing factors are taken into consideration, such as traffic volumes; capacity requirements; work flows; and safety, security and regulation. The detailed design phase requires agreement and delivery of detailed operating plans that comprehensively communicate integrated processes for the new facility; infrastructure, systems and equipment requirements; operating assumptions and detailed traffic forecasts. As part of the management of this stage, we work with clients to translate requirements and activities into agreed build, test and readiness plans and complete the supplier selection and appointment process.

Senai Airport	Cargo Facility Conceptual Design T&L developed the design, layout and operating concept, and equipment requirements for a 300,000 ton p.a. air cargo facility
Sydney Airport	Spatial Planning We participated in a retail-led project to assess the operational impact of relocating the passenger security screening and emigration facilities in Sydney’s international terminal and the effect of different retail locations on terminal operations.
