Operations Planning
Opportunities can be identified and business benefits can be realised for the aviation and distribution industries by applying operational research techniques.
In new facilities: T&L takes a demand-driven approach to helping clients plan an efficient operation from the outset. In existing facilities: We enable clients to improve their use of available capacity and more effectively plan and manage their facilities, resources and workload using demand-based planning techniques.
We help clients to plan for demand and for a consistent level of customer service. Our planning approach is based on developing an in-depth understanding of the client operation: analysing workload drivers, demand patterns and volumes, production rates and so on, to determine actual capacity requirements.
We introduce capacity and demand planning disciplines and develop planning tools tailored to the client operation. This provides the operator with the ability to improve customer service, to plan queues and consistently achieve service standards, reduce staff hours, make best use of available facilities and even defer investment in new facilities.
These skills also enable operators to determine how changes in the product mix or demand will affect each production area and the end-to-end operation. Additionally, they are pertinent in preparing airports to handle high peaks in demand such as those that are created by the A380, a major event or high seasonal demand.
